Thu, 8 November 2007 New podcast is up! This is just a bunch of my favorite artists/songs for you to enjoy. Um...enjoy! Correction: While plugging Frank Jaklitsch, I mistakenly said the wrong web address...the correct one is www.frankjak.com, not frankjak.net. Sorry! Comments[0] |
Fri, 26 October 2007 In honor of They Might be Giants playing in Richmond Wednesday night, I'm doing an all TMBG show. This is a collection of some of my favorite tunes of theirs. It's tough picking out favorites, cause they're all good, but these rank up there. My editing software went all wonky on me last night, so there are a couple of 4-6 second gaps, and a couple of the songs are a little loud, sorry. TMBG.com Comments[0] |

Thu, 25 October 2007 I remastered podcast 1, the music from my dad's library, so the voice and music levels are even. It's still kind of loud when I listened to it online, but it sounds fine on my iPod. I dunno. You can download it here. Just right click and save as, or listen online. Enjoy! Tue, 16 October 2007 Podcast 4 is finally here (again)! I played with the volume levels a bit, couple of the songs were a little loud. They should be played loud though, because this week I have amassed possibly the greatest 1 hour set of foot tappin', steering wheel drummin', car dancing songs ever assembled. Play it on the way home after a crummy day of work and be cheered up by the time you get home! I got a new microphone too, think it's a pretty good improvement over my other one, I sound a little clearer, and there's no "pop" when I stop recording voice. I'm still the same old boring host though, the mic won't fix that. Enjoy! Comments[0] |
Wed, 3 October 2007 This weeks podcast earns the explicit tag...listen with the kids! Comments[1] |
Wed, 3 October 2007 Podcast 3 is in the can! Literally. Toilet humor. Linc will love this podcast. I had to delete podcast 1 to make room for this one (as soon as comcast ups my webspace to 1 gigabyte I will be able to keep podcasts online longer), so if you're curious or missed it, too goddamn bad. Seriously though, technically, it sucked. Blew out people's eardrums. I got the recording program figured out now though! Will post the new podcast as soon as it's done converting to mp3. Enjoy! Mon, 1 October 2007 This weeks podcast will be a little late, was on call this weekend and have a funky work schedule for the first half of this week. Will get to it soon! Category: general -- posted at: 10:40 AM Comments[2] |
Thu, 27 September 2007 While running for president, George W. asked "Is our children learning?" While pushing for renewal of his No Child Left Behind law, he answered his question; "Childrens do learn." Fortunately, not from him. My spell checker has a fit whenever I quote Bush. I hope the Daily Show writers thank God every night for a president who writes their material for them. Category: general -- posted at: 6:39 PM Comments[0] |
Tue, 25 September 2007 Was listening to my last podcast in the car today...I said "cover" about a gagillion times. Whoever can guess closest to the number of times I said "cover" gets a free "Attaboy (or girl)". Category: general -- posted at: 8:22 PM Comments[2] |
Sun, 23 September 2007 Chose covers for my second podcast. I've always been a big fan of covers, love to see songs interpreted in different styles, how some groups can really nail a cover, where others can ruin a song almost so badly that you never want to even hear the original again (hello, Madonna, American Pie? ugh.). So here's a sampling of covers from my library, hope you enjoy them. Comments[0] |
Fri, 21 September 2007 I read that Robert Jordan died the other day. He's the author of one of the most amazing fantasy series of all time, The Wheel of Time. His characters invade your mind and soul, becoming part of your family. Just an outstanding author. My very first thought (after "holy shit!") was, "Fuck...what's going to happen to the rest of the story?! I hope he wrote an outline." I'm going to hell. Fri, 21 September 2007 Here's a little about me and what I want to accomplish with this podcast and blog. I have a serious and deep love for music bordering on obsession, and I feel it is my duty...nay, quest....to share my tastes in music with the world. That's pretty much it. I'll probably post some blog entries here and there, because I do love to write, but my political leanings and inability to censor myself or think before I speak may end up getting me a visit from Homeland Security. So I'll try a little self restraint. My musical taste is pretty broad, but my favorites, in no particular order, are: Harry Chapin, 80's stuff, oldies (real oldies, not the stuff they call oldies now, which includes songs from the late 70's and 80's...or does that just mean I'm old?), show tunes, and comedy...that's twisted comedy songs, like Weird Al, Stephen Lynch, stuff like that... That's just a few. Please send requests, comments, questions, etc. to ottopodcast@comcast.net, unless you acutally have my real email, which is probably about 99% of my current audience. I will play anything. Honest. Category: general -- posted at: 6:00 PM Comments[0] |
