Mon, 3 March 2008 Just a quickie to show off my new beaters for my bodhran. That's an irish drum for those not in the know. I've been playing it regularly for about 3 months with the church band, getting pretty good with it I believe. Will have a full cast up soon. Comments[0] |
Sun, 24 February 2008 Happy late birthday kid! This podcast is full of tunes My sister picked out, showing she knows far more about music made in this millennium than I do. I still got her beat on stuff from when she was before she was born though. Comments[0] |
Thu, 24 January 2008 Happy late New Year! Sorry so long between podcasts. Long story! Not really. Got a Playstation 3. Joined the band at church. That's basically it. But I'm back! This weeks podcast puts together the songs I've listened to the most over the past 2-3 shitty ass years. What better way to start off 2008 than revisit the crappy past? The play count has been reset, so I'll do this again after what I hope will be much, much better than the past couple years. Got the band, an offer to join another band from one of the surgeons at work...2008 is gonna be great! 2007 sure wasn't heaven. Sorry, best I could come up with off the top of my head. Enjoy the tunes that got me through 2005-2007! Comments[0] |
Thu, 8 November 2007 New podcast is up! This is just a bunch of my favorite artists/songs for you to enjoy. Um...enjoy! Correction: While plugging Frank Jaklitsch, I mistakenly said the wrong web address...the correct one is www.frankjak.com, not frankjak.net. Sorry! Comments[0] |
Fri, 26 October 2007 In honor of They Might be Giants playing in Richmond Wednesday night, I'm doing an all TMBG show. This is a collection of some of my favorite tunes of theirs. It's tough picking out favorites, cause they're all good, but these rank up there. My editing software went all wonky on me last night, so there are a couple of 4-6 second gaps, and a couple of the songs are a little loud, sorry. TMBG.com Comments[0] |

Thu, 25 October 2007 I remastered podcast 1, the music from my dad's library, so the voice and music levels are even. It's still kind of loud when I listened to it online, but it sounds fine on my iPod. I dunno. You can download it here. Just right click and save as, or listen online. Enjoy! Tue, 16 October 2007 Podcast 4 is finally here (again)! I played with the volume levels a bit, couple of the songs were a little loud. They should be played loud though, because this week I have amassed possibly the greatest 1 hour set of foot tappin', steering wheel drummin', car dancing songs ever assembled. Play it on the way home after a crummy day of work and be cheered up by the time you get home! I got a new microphone too, think it's a pretty good improvement over my other one, I sound a little clearer, and there's no "pop" when I stop recording voice. I'm still the same old boring host though, the mic won't fix that. Enjoy! Comments[0] |
Wed, 3 October 2007 This weeks podcast earns the explicit tag...listen with the kids! Comments[1] |
Sun, 23 September 2007 Chose covers for my second podcast. I've always been a big fan of covers, love to see songs interpreted in different styles, how some groups can really nail a cover, where others can ruin a song almost so badly that you never want to even hear the original again (hello, Madonna, American Pie? ugh.). So here's a sampling of covers from my library, hope you enjoy them. Comments[0] |
