The course I played had the longest hole in Florida.  1st Par 6 I've ever seen (I shot a 7).  I played like hell most of the round, but it was a great course, awesome weather, had a great time.

Here's a gator at the golf course I played.  One of the guys I was playing with lives down there, warned me not to get too close, or I might scare it away and not get my shot....yeah, I'll scare it.  That sucker twitches and I woulda pissed myself.

Florida was great.  Warm, sunny...great time, just not there long enough.

Here's a sign Marlene thought was hilarious...I got a chuckle out of it, but she loved it...that's why I married the great gal.

It's my sister's birthday, and I'm working on her podcast....it won't get up tonight, but should have it sometime tomorrow.  It's all stuff she picked out, took my a while to find some of it.  Goes to show that my sister knows more about new music than I do.  Will also finish up my Florida trip posts.

We're down in Sebring, FL for a fibromyalgia seminar for Marlene...we wanna move down here.  It's currently about 70 outside, neat little town.  Will post some pics when we get home monday.  Going to get some serious golf in tomorrow while she's at the seminar all day, playing a course with the longest hole in Florida, certainly the longest I'll probably ever play...about 800 yards par 6.  Crazy. It's also home of the world's largest green, over 47,000 square feet, and in Guinness.  Speaking of guinness, booze is cheap as hell here too, compared to VA anyhow....gotta stock up on the Jack.  Will knock out another podcast when I get home too, going to do covers again...so if you have any cover requests put em up here...will play the Rush cover of "the seeker" for ya linc.  So, as most of my viewers/listeners are up in NY, weather is here, wish you were beautiful!

Finally watched my first debate tonight, was pretty enlightening...here's a few quick thoughts.

I've always seen Hillary as pretty devious and conniving (I think it's the perma-smile/smirk), and tonight only lessened this a little.  I think she's going to try to run a nicer campaign than she has up to this point to match Obama's "no mud" policy, so she's gonna let Bill sling the insults and just shake her head in that "oh, there goes Bill again" way she did tonight.  Both were very civil tonight other than the Iraq  vote thing.  Point to Obama on that for being right from the start.

I'd certainly vote for either of these candidates over Bush buddy McCain or the dog torturer Romney...Huckabee's a dead man walking in the other side's primaries, won't even throw him in the mix.  And Ron Paul has hippies, at least in this area (Virginia), so he'll never win over the republicans.

On healthcare, points again for Obama for basically saying, I'll make it affordable, so the american people will be free to make a decision on if they want it or not.  Clinton's mandate just seems too dictator like to me.  Can't force it on people if it's not free.  I must buy car insurance to drive, that's fine...if I don't want insurance, I don't get a car.  Same with home owners insurance.  Ok, so....if I don't want health insurance, I have to choose to give up my health?  It's impossible to enforce as well.  Healthcare is such a mess that I don't think it's going to be fixed anytime soon, but Obama seems to have the more realistic approach to it.

Both had decent ideas on immigration, and the driver's licence thing is a non issue.  If you're an illegal immigrant, you're gonna drive, licence or no.

The TV thing was a waste of time as well, in my opinion.  Anyone who's heard my podcasts or knows me knows my views on "bad words", and I'm a firm believer in parents getting up off their asses and doing some parenting.  There's enough technology out there to keep kids from seeing shit or reading shit you don't want 'em to see or read.  If you're too lazy to do so, too bad.  Government intervention begins to border on 1st amendment issues, and is a political quagmire (giggity).  It's not words that are bad, it's the intent behind them.  And I suppose if a kid is determined enough to go to a news stand and look at naked ladies or maybe to the library and read a book that has "fuck" in it, more power to the intrepid little fuckers....at least they're reading.

So, Obama wins tonight's debate by a length or so.  I'll go ahead and throw him my official "I'm a nonentity but I got an opinion goddamn it" endorsement.  I hope the 20 or so people who come here agree with me, and if you don't, please feel free to engage in a friendly debate here on the blog.  I love to debate.  I'm a master debater...Oh wait....that's something else....never mind.

Sorry about falling off the face of the earth on this, but it's been a crazy couple months.  I'll have a new cast coming soon after the new year, I promise!

Podcast 3 is in the can!  Literally.  Toilet humor.  Linc will love this podcast.

I had to delete podcast 1 to make room for this one (as soon as comcast ups my webspace to 1 gigabyte I will be able to keep podcasts online longer), so if you're curious or missed it, too goddamn bad.  Seriously though, technically, it sucked.  Blew out people's eardrums.  I got the recording program figured out now though!
Will post the new podcast as soon as it's done converting to mp3.  Enjoy!

While running for president, George W. asked "Is our children learning?"  While pushing for renewal of his No Child Left Behind law, he answered his question; "Childrens do learn."  Fortunately, not from him.  My spell checker has a fit whenever I quote Bush.  I hope the Daily Show writers thank God every night for a president who writes their material for them.

Was listening to my last podcast in the car today...I said "cover" about a gagillion times.  Whoever can guess closest to the number of times I said "cover" gets a free "Attaboy (or girl)".

I read that Robert Jordan died the other day.  He's the author of one of the most amazing fantasy series of all time, The Wheel of Time.  His characters invade your mind and soul, becoming part of your family.  Just an outstanding author.

My very first thought (after "holy shit!") was, "Fuck...what's going to happen to the rest of the story?!  I hope he wrote an outline."

I'm going to hell.

Here's a little about me and what I want to accomplish with this podcast and blog.  I have a serious and deep love for music bordering on obsession, and I feel it is my duty...nay, quest....to share my tastes in music with the world.  That's pretty much it.  I'll probably post some blog entries here and there, because I do love to write, but my political leanings and inability to censor myself or think before I speak may end up getting me a visit from Homeland Security.  So I'll try a little self restraint.

My musical taste is pretty broad, but my favorites, in no particular order, are:

Harry Chapin, 80's stuff, oldies (real oldies, not the stuff they call oldies now, which includes songs from the late 70's and 80's...or does that just mean I'm old?), show tunes, and comedy...that's twisted comedy songs, like Weird Al, Stephen Lynch, stuff like that...

That's just a few.

Please send requests, comments, questions, etc. to ottopodcast@comcast.net, unless you acutally have my real email, which is probably about 99% of my current audience.  I will play anything.  Honest.
